Coleman Ocegueda: This depends on the power of the tranmitter and what kinds of physical and electronic artefacts might interfere with the transmission.I have 6 handheld CB radios of varying strengths. A quality 5 watt transmitter with a clear Line-Of-Sight will transmit a good, clear signal at least 5 km/3 miles. Lower powered handhelds will have a more limited range....Show more
Janean Guz: about .5 miles. the antenna is too short with only about 4 watts max out put.http://stargun.cc
Hollis Demasters: Depends on the antenna that is on it, and the RF output that it is ratted for. A three watt handheld w/ a rubber duckie antenna, will maybe get a 1/2 mile. A five watt handheld w/ a steel whip antenna, and a center load coil, will get maybe 5 miles. It also depends on the current sunspot cycle, and band conditions at the time.
