Coleman Senn: You can speak Spanish in many countries around the world, while Italian only is spoken in Italy. Spanish will be an asset for you whatever it is you choose to do as a future career. Additionally, if you are from the US, millions of people speak Spanish in the U.S. Spain is a wonderful choice and the program www.beautifulspain.com, one of the best if not the best of the programs offered abroad world wide. Location is a safe and most amazingly beautiful beach resort in Northern Spain.Host families are extremely well screened and very loving. This program gets returnees year after year, so great it is.Cost is really reasonable considering everything included (as long as you sign up with this program through their web site as there are organizations that sell the same program for much more so high quality it is).Th! is program is considered the most complete exposure to a foreign country because as they say it is true that it combines CLASSES (art, debate, street talk, folklore, among others) with FUN and EXCITING ACTIVITIES such as Latin Dance Classes, Bullfight, Boat Excursion, etcâ¦, FULL DAY OUTINGS to places of historical and cultural interest such as prehistoric Altamira Caves, Guggenheim Museum, Roman Ruins, "Capricho de Gaudi", Roman Route Hiking adventure, etc... are also ALL INCLUDED IN THE PRICE while living with a local, loving and carefully selected HOST FAMILY. I know this program allows you to choose from several host families (the type of things this program does, no other program would ever) in order for everyone to be happy. It offers you the possibility of enrolling with a friend with whom to share same host family home, or for you to stay alone at host family. Many host families count on children of your same age....Show more
Dionna Doyel: Spain - it is the mo! st popular study abroad destination with students on the Europ! ean study abroad program "Erasmus" and this is for a number of good reasons:- The weather- The relaxed lifestyle- The language (it is more useful globally than Italian)- The beaches- The cultureHowever, you would not go too wrong choosing either of the two - they both have their merits. With regards to a homestay it depends what you are after - if you want a true student experience then what you should do is actually rent your own flat, or rent a room in a shared flat (this is what most students tend to do!) instead of going to a university residence or a homestay. If you want some added security then you could go for a homestay or a dorm, however my advice would be share with other students. I have met a number of students from the states who started out in dorms or homestays, but then opted out and found their own flat for the added independence and better lifestyle. If you want some more advice about life as a student in Spain then have a look at the source site below....S! how more
