Curtis Josef: What you can do is take elem ed. (since most states require you complete a full program to become this type of teacher) & you can take other classes as electives which can help you pass subject tests which are usually required to become a secondary ed. teacher. I'm not certain what you would need to be a home ec/nutition teacher other than a general certification.
Donnell Mollo: Secondary. Gr. 1-6 are considered elementary ed. Gr. 7-12 are considered secondary ed. In New York, anyway. Check what certification goes with each major. That info will be on your college's website, and course catalog.
Arden Strachn: For little kids an elementary ed major would be ok, for older kids, a major in a content area plus lots of credits in education, perhaps a double major in nutrition and sec, ed. or math +
Rick Duchane: or if i decided to be like a cooking teacher or whatever like that like a nutrition teach at a middle shcool level what do i need to ta! ke for that and what would my major be ?
