Ervin Overbee: From his parents website 9/4: So sorry it has been so long, motherhood is busy! Lincoln is doing well, he is smiling close to constantly. Lincoln returned home from the hospital early last week and it has been going smoothly since. As for Lincoln's medical issues... we aren't in the clear yet. Lincoln's liver and spleen are m! uch bigger then they should be, and they are rock hard. The doctors thi! nk that this is the reason he needs oxygen, because his lungs cannot fully expand. Lincoln has been diagnosed with Liver disease. It is caused by the fat that is in his IV fluids, and it is inevitable. The only way to reverse this damage is for Lincoln to be able to tolerate full feedings. So this is our number one priority. As long as Lincoln tolerates it we will be moving up his feedings by 4ml's a week for 4 weeks that will be enough nutrition for him to come off the fluids....Show more

Here, we're in VA, every single preschool we've looked into requires the child to be potty trained. The cheap ones, the expensive ones, even the state-run one require the kids to be potty trained. This is going to be our biggest challenge as my son wants NOTHING to do with going on the potty and we've been "trying" since he was 16 months old. From what I've learned, it seems to be a licensing requirement that all preschools must follow. The preschools in Phoenix may have different licensing requirements, but I'm betting that they probably require potty trained kids too. Definitely worth asking any preschools you look into. The US does, however, have some great universities, and overall US uni's have much better facilities and student programs since they rake in so much cash from their students. You will also be eligible for financial aid from the government if u are a US citizen going to a US university....If you go abroad for your education keep in mind that u will probably be restricted as to how many hours u can work per week (or if u can work at all!), so if having a part-! time job while in school is very important to you then you sho! uld probably stay in the country where u are from. A bachelors degree (3 years in UK, 4 years in US, not sure about Oz) goes a little further in the UK than in the US.
