Delmer Pectol: You cook the sausage, drain the fat and crumble it.....crumble means to break it up into tiny pieces with your hands - use oven mitts or wait until it cools down enough to touch. Then you continue with your recipe.
Trena Berum: Eggs cook very quickly. Sausage takes longer to cook. So you cook the sausage first then add it to the eggs, and the extra cooking won't hurt the sausage.Sausage also has a lot of fat in it, which comes out when you cook it. The fat is not meant to be eaten! It's almost used like packaging material, in that it helps keep the sausage fresh while it's being stored, then it comes out when you cook it and you throw it away. (Same with bacon, BTW). So you cook the sausage by itself, and crumble it while you cook it. Then you drain out almost all the fat, except just enough to coat the bottom of the pan. Then you put the eggs in and cook them....Show more
Carolin Southers: You can do whatever you want with both those option! s, whatever you've gotta do to crumble it. I would cook the chorizo first, and if it doesnt crumble while getting cooked in the pan, I would crumble it yourself with gloved hands or a knife! It's really no technique just make the food look how the action sounds, crumbled ;)
Barrett Alosa: Chorizo needs to be cooked first. You put it into a skillet and chop it up as it cooks over low heat. When it's cooked, drain off any grease. Now it's ready to add to the eggs. Rachel Ray has a good cook book for beginners. She show how to chop, mince, brown, crumble....all that stuff.
