need help bought car then found out afterwards totaled?

Dexter Dicostanzo: no, but the dealer needs to be sued for liability for neglectful pratices. they can't sell cars they haven't inspected.

Mack Ukich: You can try to sue the dealer, but chances are you bought the car As Is and you knew it hadn't been inspected. The fact that you weren't careful and bought his claims about why it wasn't inspected is going to hurt you in a case. It's kind of a 'buyer beware' situation.

Riley Migl: This has happened to us all, and unfortunately it happens mostly to young people who really can afford to be cheated in buying a car. Actually, this same thing happened to me several times in my younger day, when I spent the last of my money to buy a car I really needed, only to find out the car was junk.It is heart breaking to know that there really are people out there who would do such a thing to you. It is hurtful and personal.Back to your question, I suspect you signed a bill of sale of some sort, which stated that the car was! being sold "As is and Where is" or words to that effect. Somewhere else in that paperwork you will find word something like "no guarantee stated, implied, or written." And on most it will say that no mechanical survey of the vehicle has been completed.
