Theatre acting vs Film acting?

Ruthe Real: Yes! It's very beneficial!Stage acting is where acting developed, most actor's start off with it and they should. Stage acting is a wonderful, beautiful thing that you don't realize until you try it. If you want to progress into film acting it's very useful and surprising similar. The acting method is the same, in film you perform in front of a lot of people (director, producers, camera men, sound technicians etc) it's good to have started in stage because you know the method and aren't afraid to perform in front of a lot of people, also if you forget a line and improvise well, they may even keep it in.Also, it's great fun!(:...Show more

Ira Porietis: The trick to film acting vs. stage acting is believing your surroundings. There's an even balance of Uta Hagen and Sandy Meisner in film acting both being that it is of the utmost importance to convince your brain that what is happening in the script is actually happening to you. For film you may be confron! ted with just a giant camera shoved right in your face and you may be trying to conjure up these deep "emotions" and you just can't "act" because you're trying too hard. But if you do your homework about your character and have their background down, their physical and emotional blueprints down, and can just say yes to the honesty of the piece on which you're working you will no longer be acting, you will be living--and that's really all we're trying to do these days. {and obviously this is juxtaposed to the theatre thing where you are on stage in your characters world for 'x' amount of time and there is actually less concentration required} neither is easy..but film is nice.....cus the only thing that doesn't end up in the garbage is your best work. Good luck!...Show more
