Are Fashion Shows really that important?

Dominic Sciancalepore: Fashion shows are important because designers get to show of their designs, without fashion shows designer won't have the ability to show what they have created.

Ronnie Panas: fashion shows:a) showcase the designers new line, which is great publicity (celebrities and models wearing their clothes, good reviews, etc) b) helps determine the styles and trends for the following season. stores like forever 21, old navy, delias, etc., will look at successful runway trends from the previous season as inspiration for their products. (i.e., what is on the runway this season, may seem a little weird or unwearable to the general public, gets worn by celebrities ad featured in magazines, and then gets watered down to become more wearable and well received after a few years). . every trend you see in the stores right now (skinny jeans, leggings, bright colors) were all on the runways a few seasons ago. c) a lot of buyers for stores and boutiques will com! e to view the line and place orders, and their decisions on what to buy or not buy is definitely swayed by the reactions and reviews of the audience...Show more

Lon Pennington: Fashion shows are kind of like art shows. Some people treat fashion like art because they both involve creativity and design. They promote their lines because they get to show off what their creations are just like artists hand out flyers to their art show.
