'Mother Tongue' by Bill Bryson, which in particular concentrates on
the differences between English as spoken in the UK and in America,
and is very very interesting.

"The History of English." Was gonna tell you to be prepared to try and
stay awake. Had to watch it back in tenth grade. I'm not joking about
trying to stay awake, that was one of the most boring things I ever
had to sit through in school period.
