Will tattoos ever go out of style?
answers1: None of the tattooed people I know got them because it was
"the style." Their tattoos are far more meaningful than that. Anyone
who gets something permanent like that just to be "in style" will
likely regret it. And as others have said, tattooing has been around
for centuries- so no, they won't... go away. If anything, they're
becoming more acceptable, less stigmatized. I'd like to tell you what
you want to hear/read, but then I'd be lying. Sorry!
answers2: No, they are pictures that tell storys about the person.
Even if a tattoo seems trendy there is a good chance it has a meaning
to the wearer. Tats have been around forever. Every generation is
going to have them. So certain tattoos may go out of style. But
tattooing as an art will probably never die.
answers3: I agree that being a tattoo artist is a way of life (its a
free creative art form really). However, for actually getting a
tattoo, it's different. Tattoos are for other people to look at,
making them a fashion statement in a sense, just as rappers dress like
rappers, pop princesses like pop princesses and metal heads like metal
heads. There is nothing wrong with it, apart from the fact your stuck
with it, even if it's bad, not lie with the others. It doesn't matter
what people say about the meaning of them. Anything meaningful can be
remembered, you don't need a tattoo to remind you. I am a metal head
(stereotyped as tattoo lovers), and i will never get a tattoo or
piercing. I would rather change other aspects of my appearance if i
wanted to look different. If i loved art so much, i would express it
on a suitable medium, not my body, so i can show it off. Just my
opinion, no need to bite, i respect people who like tattoos, its their
choice and if their happy, that is great! I believe they wont phase
out as they will always be out there (people have to live for 40-50
with them them, promoting them at the same time haha).
answers4: Tattoos are personal. For those who do it to "be in
style"...then they are doing it for the wrong reason and may have some
regret later on, but maybe not...most get the idea after that first
and keep getting ink for more personal reasons later on in life.

For you wanting to go out of style, it tells a lot of about you. If
you dont like them so much, then just dont get them. As far as the
post that stated it started mostly with inmates...are sorely
mistaken...some cultures used them war time and others for maturity
marks into manhood and womanhood. It was a mark of the tribes and the
clans...either way, it didnt start with inmates.

Best of Luck!
answers5: Tattoos will never go out of style. They have been around
for 100s of years. They are a part of cultures and considered ways for
people in the tribe to show that they are adults. The mainstream of
getting tattoos may one day slow but I doubt that. It's a way for
people to express themselves and to tell stories of their lives.
answers6: That is a yes/no answer. Yes because as you said style.
Styles come and they go. I am not so sure they were actually ever in
style for a majority of the population. But their popularity has
increased over the past several years.

No I do no think they will ever go completely out of style. There has
always been and there always will be a segment of the population that
will find them stylish.

I think what you have to ask yourself is "Do I want a tattoo?" That
will eventually turn blue, and be with me for the rest of my life.

Style is an individual decision as is a tattoo.
answers7: they'll go in style and somewhat out of style... but never
completly, until your old and have wrinkly skin and the tatoo would be
really nasty looking.
answers8: The answer to your question is no. Tattooing is one of the
worlds oldest art forms. It has been a part of human culture for
nearly as long as the human race itself. The modern tattoo has grown
in popularity and has become so mainstream that even US supreme court
justices have them. For them to become unpopular would mean that the
40% of 25 to 40 year olds and 36% of 18-25 year olds in the United
States, would all have to die and take the tattoo artists with them.
In fact, if people continue to get tattooed at the rate they currently
are, the total population of the US with a tattoo will be 60% by 2012.
So, soon you and the other haters will be the minority. I can't wait
for that day to arrive.
answers9: No I don't think so. They have been around FOR EVER. It's
not that they are exactly in style anyway. Most people don't get
tattoos because they are in style at the time, they get them because
they mean something to them. Tattoo's are a form of expression and
always will be.

When you say please god let it go out of style... does that mean you
don't like tattoo's or you like tattoo's but your sick of everyone
getting meaningless, generic tattoo's because they think they are
"cool".

If you don't like tattoo's... well I suppose that's your opinion. It's
not on your body though, so I don't see how it would bother you.

If you are annoyed with people getting them for no reason, I agree.
answers10: I don't think so. Maybe a certain type of them, but not
tattoos in general. People have been getting tattoos for thousands of
years, all over the world. It's identification, a status symbol,
artwork, a piece of yourself. Tattoos are many different things to
different people, I don't see them going out of style. Especially
since so many people are getting them now, and they're permanent.
answers11: Depends. Do you mean the semi-current style trend?
Probably, but they'll come back again, probably from a different
angle. How & when is a hard call. It's not like pierced ears on guys
have faded and that's been going on since the 80s.

The cycle time is a question for a sociologist, if it's even possible
to answer.

If you mean purely as a cultural - and not just in western, US or
European style first world countries- then probably not. You'd see
t-shirts go away first is my guess.

Are bangs in style right now?
answers1: O-M-GEE

Yess
goshhh it gets on my nerves.
no not because they are in style
but because in 6th grade (i'm now in 8th)
i had bangs and NOBODY had bangs only side bangs
and i hated them so i grew them out
now i have side bangs
and alot of people have full bangs and have awesome layer hair with it
and its so cool
and i'm like goshhhh and i'm not cutting full bangs again it took
forever to grow them out
answers2: bangs are totally in style but i wouldnt get ones that cover
up r full forhead i would ones that are spaced out a little
answers3: Nelly Furtado Bangs
answers4: in the event that they are longer. It relies upon on the
hair decrease with the form, yet i think of the final ones are with
uneven layers and angled bangs with the shortest section being around
your eyebrow. Plus, the remarkable element approximately side-swept
bangs is that in case you somewhat hate them when you get them
completed, you are able to cover them. leaf with the aid of magazines
and information superhighway sites and spot in case you will hit upon
a coiffure comparable to yours or to the form you opt to get it
decrease/styled that still had side bangs. that could desire to offer
you a physically powerful indicator of what style of bangs pass with
which coiffure. playstation . in case you love them, convey it
returned. in case you are able to truly rock a style, it is not
significant notwithstanding if it incredibly is in or out.
answers5: well, it depends on the style. front bangs are in, and
always were... looking at celebs won't REALLY help though, because
they change their styles all the time. for example: kate hudson got
her front bangs a few months ago, whereas nelly furtado got hers a

in or not. :D
What is Beauty? ?
answers1: "There is nothing that makes its way more directly to the
soul than beauty."
- Joseph Addison

"Things are beautiful if you love them."
- Jean Anouilh
answers2: Beauty is very subjective, but in my opinion beauty is how
pretty the person looks when they wake up (therefore no makeup, no
hair salon, no fancy fixes).
answers3: beauty is an abstract thing... when you like someone or
something, you find it beautiful,..... what attracts to your eyes is
beautiful...
answers4: A great poet, John Keats, in "Ode on a Grecian Urn," said it
best, "Beauty is truth, truth beauty. That is all ye know on Earth,
and all ye need to know."
answers5: I personally believe that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Beauty is atrributed to objects that please the senses and as you can
see people's senses are pleased by a variety of things. So it makes
sense to conclude that different people might not find the same person
or thing beautiful. Scientists say that beauty is based on good looks
which is based on symmetry but what makes symmetry good? Nothing, you
cant prove it's goodness, because many art fans have derived pleasure
from scattered paintings. In addition to that you cant even prove that
an object is beautiful. It all depends on taste.
answers6: Beauty lies in symmetry
answers7: Intellectual self-consciousness can discover the beauty of truth.

The discernment of supreme beauty is the discovery and integration of
reality.

The appealing beauty of art.

All real beauty--material art or spiritual symmetry--is both true and good.
answers8: Beauty to me is someones personality, someone who is kind
and generous, open minded and a sense of humour is what makes someone
beautiful to me.
answers9: Everything I like is beautiful! Wouldn't it make sense that
everything I don't like, is ugly?

GUYS:if you were to choose between a stripper body or a model body?
answers1: there isn't much of difference, at least from what Ive
seen... both are hot...
answers2: stripper body - in my neighborhood the strippers are all
chunky body type and I like curves on females and all body types
except stick figures
answers3: If you must ask what body type that I'd be most attracted
to; but it's not that downright important. I would say that Models
tend to be Tooooooooooo Skinny. Strippers; I guess (haven't been
looking) I would think would have more of a volumptious body. I've
always been more attracted to the average built woman. (Med. Slim
Petite) I know alot of guys that like women a little bit chunky
though. So, it all works out I guess.

Acne spot treatment for sensitive skin?
answers1: I dont hev the answer to your exact question but with your
tattoo if you clean itonce a day with dial antibacterial soap and then
put triple antibiotic ointment it will seriously heal in a couple days
mine healed in 3
answers2: Try a tiny drop of benzoyl peroxide. Very tiny. Just on the
spot. Tea tree oil might help also. Make sure that your moisturizer
has an exfoliant, which might help prevent breakouts.
answers3: I love a bargain as much as anyone and I used to love all
the cheap stuff I could find on eBay, but nowadays it seems so hard to
find anything cheap over there and just when we're all finding it
tougher to just pay our bills. I don't give up so I was looking for
someplace online where I could still find myself a bargain... and by
accident I came across this site I never heard of before where you get
rock bottom prices from police impounded stuff, I mean I was worried
about scams but this stuff is actually real and I got some real cheap
stuff there... it's become my new eBay lol! Go to WinItems.com
answers4: any medicine locally applied may harm your skin
answers5: Avoid over-the-counter acne remedies that depend on large
amounts of benzoyl peroxide, alpha-hydroxy-acid (AHA) and
beta-hydroxy-acid (BHA). These three chemicals are often used in high
percentages in many commercial acne treatments and work by using acids
to increase exfoliation in the skin. Individuals with sensitive skin
may react to high amounts of these chemicals with redness, tingling
and a burning sensation. This may actually aggravate acne in some
individuals.
Just out of curiousity what do black men like most: dark skinned women or light skinned women?
answers1: Ill take ANY SHADE OF BLACK WOMAN. NO DISCRIMINATION HERE :D
answers2: I'm a light skinned black man, and I got a fetish for dark
skinned women. Just something about how smooth and soft their skin
looks. And their lips.... let me stop before I go further lol
answers3: I agree with Alter Ego. My lighter skinned brother (like
almost white looking) always dates girls much darker than him. My Dark
skinned brother dates white girls or mixed light skinned girls. Also
my mom is light-medium skinned and she married my dad who is dark
skinned. Now she is dating a very light skinned man. The lady he dated
before my mom was dark skinned.

I really can't explain it actually besides saying that's their
personal preference.
answers4: From what I see, I notice most light skin black males go for
dark skin females and most dark skin males go for light skin females.
I think the opposite compliments each other.
answers5: Whatever appears appealing to the eye.

answers9: "Divide and conquer" still works to destroy groups. Let's
hope blacks lay that aside and not allow smoke screens of skin color

Question about skin id?
answers1: Assuming you are using this for acne/blemishes:
I haven't used Skin ID, but wanted to suggest Acne.org to you. Try
Dan's Regimen it really works. Acne.org can answer anything acne by
reading message boards or Dan's research. Do some research. Find a
regimen that works for you. Maybe Skin ID will work for you, but there
are cheaper and better products out there in my opinion.

Right now I'm using
1.Johnson and Johnson Head to Toe Baby Wash (very gentle, no soap
ingredients, and very affordable) 6$ 16oz.
2.Dan's Treatment (Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5%) - it does dry out areas you
apply, but it works. 32$+shipping 16oz.
3.Cetaphil Moisturizer (non-cosmetogenic, doesn't clog pores) 7$ 16 oz.

around 50$ that may seem expensive, but the quantity of each item is
more than what you will get with neutrogena. I've been using it for
about a month and still have plenty left for maybe 3 months.
Good Luck!
answers2: Skin id irritated my skin, although I used the moisturizer
afterwords. But if your skin can handle it, yes, apply moisturizer
over id. Good luck :):}

Good Luck!

Girls, I'm out of makeup remover how do i remove my makeup?
answers1: Believe it or not I use canola oil. I mix a bit with some
water and gently wipe my face with a cotton pad and use q-tips for
around my eyes. Then wash my face with my normal cleanser.
answers2: Vaseline works great and if not then just use a face wash
but a face wash won't remove makeup
completely. Ooh, also baby wipes work.

hope i helped,

elmo :)
answers3: you could use moisturiser as a cleansing lotion..apply a
thick layer to your face and eyes and wipe off with cotton wool
pads..or baby wipes are great too..and then you can use youre gel
cleanser :)
answers4: you could use a moisturizer, it takes off your makeup well,
but i'm not sure about your whole face..
if it helps, i use nivea cream as a replacement to eye makeup remover
sometimes.
answers5: For your face, use baby wipes. They do wonders! and for your
eye makeup, use olive oil! It works great and comes off really easily.
answers6: I never use anything except water. I usually first splash
some warm water on my face, then wet a washcloth and rub my eyes. I
think it's better at getting off all of the mascara, and it's cleaner
than makeup remover, which I find too creamy and messy.
answers7: I just wet a rag and rub the mascara off onto my bottom
eyelid then I put soap and water on the rag and wash my whole face and
my foundation and macara come off easily. :)
answers8: actually alot of girls use olive oil for eye makeup remover.
it wont leave it greasy if you wash it off later. Then use your gel
cleanser to try your best to take it off. Another thing that will work
if you have it is baby wipes! they basically do the same thing. i hope
i helped :)
answers9: get some baby shampoo and put it on a cotton round or a
tissue or something. get it a little wet. it comes off amazing, you
dont even need makeup remover!
answers10: I use this myself and it works perfectly: Take a little
container and fill it half up with baby oil and the other half with
water. Then mix every time before using. It is very gentle and isnt
to oily cuz the water dilutes it. its very good
water and gently wipe my face with a cotton pad and use q-tips for
around my eyes. Then wash my face with my normal cleanser.

What accessories shuld i get for a new mac?
answers1: The HDMI to Mini Display Port is a must. Don't get Office
for Mac, get iWork. Office is more expensive and slower - iWork is
much faster and is also compatible with MS Office on Windows.
Personally, a Wacom tablet is a fun accessory, if you like drawing. I
just got a Magic Mouse and am loving it. There's a load of software
you can get for it, if you're interested, email me at
<ktroje@gmail.com>, I have quite a list of fun and entertaining
software for Mac.
answers2: get office for mac if you intend on using it for word
documents because they're compatible with windows.
a mighty mouse could come in handy
and also final cut express is really good for editing videos if you're into that
answers3: If you want to hook it up to a monitor then you will need
the display port adapter. Other than that, no fun accessories are
needed. Enjoy it, love mine.
answers4: Get the double quarter pounder with cheese. Its the ONLY Mac
thats worth the money

prom help!! need advice for accessories!?
answers1: Don't go for creams or blacks because they look way too
formal and you're still young! Either match the shoes with the colour
of the dress or go for a wacky contrasting colour. If you go for the
latter then keep the accessories simple and plain. Make up wise I'd
keep it as simple as possible and very natural.
answers2: I would go with gold. You can get gold shoes, wear gold
eyeshadow, peach lip gloss/blush. The roses for the
corsage/boutenniere should be light peach. They should have some gold
ribbon to go with it too. It sounds so cute! Good luck!

keep a new pair from ripping too?
answers4: your shoes and purse should be white. you should wear pearl
earings with the diamond cz and same with necklace. his flower should
be white. these are nice simple idea which wont over power the look.

the cream or vanilla/off white is much classier for this event

the silver jewelery undemanding and minimum. regardless of if it quite
is a normal gown, then bling it up with enormous

Stay with soft metallic colors if your dress is shimmery (like
taffeta) or shiney (like satin). But should your dress have a matte
fabric, then you might do a bold metallic.
answers9: i would go for a cream colours definitely not White of black

Chinchilla cage accessories help!!?
answers1: My sister has a chinchilla and all she seems to do id eat

Go into Cosmetology i guess takes like 3 months or so!!
answers3: There is a whole other aspect of the fashion industry that
definitely goes unnoticed, and that's the business/marketing aspect.
Design and marketing go hand in hand because if you have a hot
product, you need to put it out there and sell it in order to make it
hot in the first place. You can go into fashion marketing, work as a
buyer for big department stores, or work as a sales associate for big
fashion houses. Regardless of what you do, it will be difficult to
achieve success in a short amount of time since the industry is so cut
throat. You need to be street smart and style savvy.

what day do students who took science & humanities GCSEs in year 10 get the results?
answers1: You results are available for you to collect today. However,
I'm guessing the teachers will tell you your results when you start
school again. I doubt there's anything wrong with you going in to get
them, but no sure if the teachers would've organized your results into
an envelope for you. If you really can't wait any longer, go in and
get them. Good luck

Help with humanities homework?
answers1: The book was " Dialogue concerning 2 chief world systems".
It led him to beign accused of heresy and he so recanted ( alternative
was to be burnt at the stake). This wasnt' about bureaucracy this was
about religion insisting on being right against all the evidence and
upholding its point of view by killing people and torturing them. At
the point you are at Galileo would have been in terror of his life ;
that needs to come across a bit more.

Natural Science and Humanities classes.?
answers1: Natural Sciences- Take General Bio and Historical geology.
Those classes are the easiest in my opinion.

Humanities- They are all pretty equal in terms of difficulty. So I
would just choose the one that you are most interested in. Ethics and
Philosophy are interesting courses, but they can be difficult.

For Graduates with a Masters Degree in Humanities ONLY:?
answers1: It would be hard to get a job in the humanities these days.
These are usually jobs that are the easiest to cut and are the first
ones cut. Many say that they are "unnecessary" since they only analyze
cultural related phenomenon, unlike physical jobs that provide revenue
and product benefit. Whatever the argument might be, they are usually
pushed out first. It would be a good idea to find another career.
Sorry!

Humanities classes.....?
answers1: If French 1 & 2 also fulfill your foreign language
requirement, they probably do not double for your humanities
requirement. Your credits can't do double duty, so unless you also
have credits in another language, you'll have to take another class. A
French class beyond the basic language requirements would count, or
something else that you're not using to fulfill another requirement.

What is art? Would this be considered art?
answers1: This is an excellent question to be asked. It depends on
your own society rules and regulations. I appreciate you courage.
Language of an art can be understood by the artists and only few broad
minded people. What ever the 'line' that you are talking about will
vanish for those who actually got so much involved in the beauty of
the art. Those who see it from strong artistic point view cannot find
any bad thing in a nude girl in the art. They least care the content
and its meaning. They care the quality of the art. And for those who
are fond of pornography sees only that content in the art, they cannot
truly appreciate the artistic skills. They care the type of content in
the art. You might be knowing the story of four blind persons
understanding an elephant in four diffrent ways by just touching it
from four diffrent positions. This case is also similar. Content is
same view points are different. Difference exists there. Check what
kind of people were there in the panel to which you are going to
submit this paper. Here the answers will be anonymus and may not help
you.
answers2: "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" in this case art is
what you picture to be art. However, look at the last supper isn't it
also informing a group of people something? how about georgia O'Keeffe

art is what you believe is art.
answers3: Art,the oldest definition you will find,is anything made by
the hands of man that causes an emotion, feeling of understanding or
inner awareness in another being.
answers4: art can be anything u make it to be
answers5: if its specific, then all its showing u is facts. art is
all about feelings and what u think and what ur interpretation of it
is, not what it may or may not be. art is not an exact science...u
draw what ur heart says and not what ur brain is thinking!! shut it

MMA, martial art or not?
answers1: MMA is not a martial art. It is a fighting sport (or
martial sport) that has rules.

When rules are introduced to limit the actions of people in "combat",
the event becomes a sporting contest.
answers2: I don't think of boxing and MMA as martial arts but instead
as fighting arts and to me there is a difference. Martial arts to me
imply arts with a long history and which are steeped in culture and
embrace various aspects of that culture and a period of time in it.

Take a jump or flying side kick for instance which is a technique that
was developed for knocking a samurai or soldier from his horse.
People no longer fight from horses like they once did during the
feudal periods of Japan and China and you now see this technique today
being done and applied effectively in movies and television against a
person standing which would not generally be the case unless they were
blind, stupid, or drunk and just simply stood there and watched you
launch yourself up and hit them with it.

So there are techniques in martial arts today that are still taught
and held close but there might not be a need for their application
today like there was a hundred or two hundred years ago. The spear
hand thrust is another such technique and I could name a number of
others but yet they all are still largely taught and practiced in
things like kata and students are tested on them. This is because of
custom and embracing things of that culture and that martial art for
that period of time though in which these techniques as well as others
were developed, some of which still have their application today.

Contrasted with that you have fighting arts which don't revolve so
much around custom and culture or embracing certain aspects of that
culture. Instead they are purely are based on application and you
often don't see any philosophy or religion associated with them either
like you do in martial arts. That is another thing that separates the
two in my mind at least.

While you can make an argument for the fact that some of those things
in fighting arts come or came from martial arts there are many things
that did not as well. Other than that association they have less in
common with martial arts in my mind and they are exclusive of any
religious and cultural aspects and those ties to them in my mind.

This is just how I see it and what separates the one from the other
and helps me to keep them separate in my mind.
answers3: Katana made a good point. Those of us that have been in
traditional martial arts for a long time(over 41 years myself) have
been experiencing the frustration that you are feeling now. Only thing
is for serious mma students it is only just beginning. TMA
practicioners have had to put up with one fad after another . Every
few years another martial art becomes really popular. When it happens
every wannabe jumps on the band wagon. The interest then results in
many schools for this MA springing up like weeds in a garden. While
some are legitimate most are simply not qualified. It takes years to
become a knowledgeable/qualified instructor of any serious MA. Yet
shortly after a new one becomes the fad there are thousands of guys
opening schools and claiming to be qualified. Personally I see there
being several problems with the martial arts both TMA and MMA. 1) The
public is ignorant and does not know how to tell the real from the
fakes. 2) Americans and many others don't have the patience to spend
the time to really learn the MA, so schools have watered down the
training. This is because many people simply would not train if they
don't get promoted often, or the classes are not fun. 3) The ignorance
and the greedy open MA schools and will compromise the training so
that they can make money. That is why in the 1960's you did not see
young children in the MA. 4) The MA have become a joke to many because
they see so many 5 and 6 year olds with black belts. Not to mention
the 15 to 18 year olds that are 2nd and 3rd degree black blets and
teaching classes. To sum things up, the problem is greed, the desire
for instant results(promotions), underhanded business practices, and
an increasingly ignorent general public. It really frost my ........
when I meet an adult and as soon as they know that I'm a long time
martial artist, they say something like, "Oh my 6 years old just got
his black belt". 80% of the students in the martial arts in the U.S.A.
are children. So what is wrong with this picture? The public views the
MA as a children's activity, not a serious method of self-defense. Sad
but true.
answers4: MMA is a sport that features a mixture of many martial arts
and fighters who use many different martial systems.

Boxing is BOTH a martial art and a sport because Boxing was originally
taught for military purposes. did you know that Boxing allowed kicks,
grapples and throws? Boxing we see now is a sport, but Pugilism, is a
very real martial art.
answers5: no
its a training method just like cross training is, since they are the
same thing.
its a method of training thats it
answers6: MMA stands for mixed martial arts. It is not an art,
itself, but a randomly composed mix of techniques from various styles.
I, personally, consider it a very inferior way to train. My
preference is to pick any one traditional style and pursue it into the
black belt ranks, as far as you can.
answers7: Martial art is a very broad term. Anything can be considered
"martial art" as long as it involves self-defense.

Boxing is a martial art. so is MMA
answers8: No.

This question is on here too much. Actually it is tiring responding to
such useless things.

In my opinion there is nothing wrong with mixed martial arts. MMA is a
name associated with a sport under the rules of that sport. Martial
Arts do not have rules. Sports do. Many martial arts have some sports
aspects. In other words the art has been modified to allow for
competition under a set of rules specific for that sport.

In mma you do not have to know multiple styles but you may compete
against people that may know parts of one or more styles. This may put
you at a disadvantage if you don't know how to defend against such
attacks.

In most martial sport you only have to compete against someone that
can only do one aspect of fighting such as striking or grappling
depending on the rules. However, in mma it allows for both striking
and grappling in its set of rules.

In a martial art the goal is life preservation/protection. It is not
to win a contest. In most martial arts your objective is to injure or

martial sport) that has rules.

In most martial arts your objective is to injure or
use deadly force upon your attacker in order to protect your life or
the life of others. If the attacker is injured enough they can't
continue the attack. You have accomplished your goal. It is not about
winning. You survived an attack. You escaped from an attack.

Art History & Art Critisism?
answers1: Both art history and art criticism take into account the
context of the art work. Both are concerned with the basic functions
of art in society and for individuals. Art history documents art that
has been seminal in pushing boundaries of expression and society
function and/or art that has become iconic. Art criticism helps to
identify which art may be seminal/iconic and why.
answers2: Art history is how art developed over time and across
cultures. It relates to social history. Sometimes a case can be made
that art leads social history by raising awareness that stimulates new
ways of thinking and fresh visons of how life should be; other times
art documents social history by means of showing the vision of artists
and their patrons of the time. Often art history is a combination of
those things.

Art criticism is evaluation of how art meets objectives. Questions
asked by critics are in at least three categories. What was the art
trying to do? How well did the art accomplish the mission? Was the
mission worth achieving?
My cat is acting...strange ?
answers1: The only time a cat acts strange is when it's not acting strange.
answers2: It probably has to do with hormones after giving birth. All
your momma-kitty wants to do is to take care of things and probably
scent mark objects and you to warn other cats where she is because she
has kittens.
answers3: Cats can be in heat 48 hours after giving birth. It is not
like human cycles at all. She is definitely in heat. I do believe you
can spay a nursing cat if the kittens are old enough to be away from
her for a few hours. Call a vet and ask.
answers4: You've never seen a cat act like that? You're insane. That's
what they do. They rub up against things to leave their scent behind,
and they knead the floor, blankets, and furniture. And they meow too.

how long are the acts in homestuck?
answers1: Acts in homestuck vary depending on which act it is, what i
noticed is that the higher the act the longer it is as it will
subdivide into other acts. Such as Act 5 Act 2 or Act 6 Act 3
Intermission 3. You will notice the change in acts as it should pull
down a curtain and say something like "act 2" if you're going to act
2. Also I wouldn't necessarily say most of the stuff happens in act 5,
that is just when the Trolls get introduced and the plot deepens a
bit.

Why do movie theaters charge so much?
answers1: It isn't the admission fee that shocks me so much, it's the
cost of popcorn and drinks. They're more than double admission and I
think this is a disgrace--especially since the popcorn is usually cold
and the soda watered down. I refuse to buy refreshments any more.
Maybe some day the theaters will get the message if enough of us do
this.
answers2: Have you tried Blockbuster or Hollywood Video? It costs
about $5 for everybody to watch one movie. Pop your own popcorn for
about a buck.

technology. The movie distribution companies charge large amounts to
the theaters to show their movies.
sonnets, poetry and prose?
answers1: complicated thing. seek at yahoo and bing. this can help!
answers2: A sonnet is one specific type of poem. It has 14 lines and
uses regular meter (usually iambic pentameter) and a regular pattern
of rhyme. There are several different traditional rhyme schemes for a
sonnet.

A "sonnet" web search will turn up tons of information.

Although all sonnets are poems, many poems are not sonnets. Not all
poems have the same number of lines, and they don't all use rhyme and
meter.

The question of how to differentiate poetry from prose is much too big
to get into here. If you web search the definitions of "poetry" and
"prose," you'll find plenty of material.
answers3: problematic situation. research with google. this will help!
answers4: Definition of a sonnet? nicely, it is undemanding. that's a
14-line poem, regularly written in metered verse, with a rhyme scheme
in accordance to this variety of sonnet (the two English or Italian
type, alternately talked approximately as Shakespearean and Petrarchan
sonnets). Defining poetry is slightly greater open to opinion, however
the important area is representative language -- it is, the poet
chooses words to assert what he potential, somewhat than what the
words themselves advise. A poem isn't unavoidably (and regularly
isn't) literal in meaning.
answers5: Google the topic the elements of poetry( a sonnet is a poem
and will be included in the facts ). Then do the same for prose.

poetry.com?
answers1: It just something poetry.com come says to anyone who sent a
poem too. Trust me, I been in poetry.com for a year and so have my
friends...it just a thing they say to make ya feel better.
answers2: The responder above me is absolutely correct. They are a
vanity press, meaning you pay them to publish your poem/s. They tell
you that you have talent, that your poem has been selected, etc.,
etc., etc., and it all serves to boost your ego so that you'll more
likely pay the price to have your poem published in a hard cover book.
That being said, if you really want to see your poem in a hard cover
book alongside other poems and poets, then pay the fees and they will
deliver a handsomely bound book and I can almost guarantee your poem
will the be first one in the book. They do this to promote their
company and so you are more likely to order more books and will feel
some degree of pride in having your poem listed first. Face it,
there's nothing wrong with self-publishing as long as you do it with
your eyes open and understand that you got your poem published because
you paid to have it published, not because it will win any awards. To
those who have never been published in a hard cover book, it's worth
trying at least once. To those who want to be published based on
merit, then don't pay the fees and delete any emails you receive from
them (and there will be many). Just don't be fooled by the
hype...that's all.
answers3: complex issue. look onto google and yahoo. that could actually help!
answers4: Oh no! You have been scammed. Poetry.com accepts and
publishes everyone's poetry. If you send them money (for a book or
something), then they will steal it.
answers5: Poetry.com is what is called a vanity publishing company
where they try to get poets to pay them to publish their poems.
Everyone who submits a poem gets the same response. Soon they will
send you information on their book and how to get you poem in the next
one. Try this...write the most ridiculous poem you can think up, no
rhyme, no meter, nonsense words and submit it. You'll get the same
response. I know because I did it.
answers6: Yes.. i concur.. the whole thing is a ploy to get you to
spend money to attend their "poetry awards show." Don't fall for it
bookey!

What do you think is the definition of poetry?
answers1: Poetry (Or Poetic thought), I think, is the most
self-satisfying thing yet to be discovered by humans.

So, I'd say, keeping in tone with all great quotes, "Poetry is the
self-content search for beauty in the simplest aspect of things".
answers2: In most types of language, the meaning is important - but
the words don't matter.

"Straight ahead, across the roundabout, then the third on your left".

"Drive through the traffic lights, take the second exit from the
roundabout, then turn left down Ashburnham Road."

Both of those are normal language statements, and both mean exactly
the same thing.

We call something 'poetry' when the words start to matter; when there
isn't another way of saying the same thing:

"I never lost so much but twice,
And that was in the sod."

There isn't another way of saying that: if you alter the words, you
change the meaning.

'Poetry' is language where the precise words matter; where the
language becomes opaque.

There are several different reasons why a poet might choose to make
the language opaque. There are even different degress of how opaque
the language needs to be, before you need to start calling it poetry.

If the exact words matter - it is poetry.

If only the meaning matters (you can say it a different way, and not
change anything important), it isn't poetry.
answers3: It's a way to express. :)
answers4: Poetry to me is an expression of one's feeling or
thoughts... its as simple as that.

answers3: a collection of words with meaning. more flow than an essay.
it usally is the start of a song. most musicians use this as a base.
it is a form of expression you can check out lots at www.poetry.com i
have written a few pieces there my self you can search jalaina thayer
to see these.
answers4: "emotion recollected in tranquility"
Wordsworth
answers5: Poetry is a very unusual form of writing. It falls into
little pigeon holes. It has rhythm, flow, meter and sometimes rhyme.
It also is filled with emotion and comes from the heart. It has often
occurred to me that I do not exactly understand why people like John
Donne who felt the need to pour his heart out put these tremendous
artificial limits on himself by forcing himself to do so within the
constraints of poetry. Why didnt he just write it in prose? It would
have been so much easier. But for many who are poets, there is only
one way that they can allow that grief and emotion to come out and
that is within poetic restraints. For that reason, poetry is a
singular anomaly. Pax - C.
answers6: poetry is a peice of literature, not quite a song, not quite
a paper, but in between.
answers7: Poetry has had many faces during history. Greek poets
celebrated their gods and heroes in epic verse, Shakespeare wrote for
drama, comedy and satire, and the Soviets used poetry as a propaganda
tool in order to promote communism.
answers8: literary work in which the expression of feelings and ideas
is given intensity by the use of distinctive style and rhythm; poems
collectively or as a genre of literature.

Philosophy vs. Religion?
answers1: This question makes no sense

It is like saying... which is better a sports car or a potatoe?

Better at what?

A religion is a set of common beliefs and practices generally held by
a group of people, often codified as prayer, ritual, and religious
law. Religion also encompasses ancestral or cultural traditions,
writings, history, and mythology, as well as personal faith and mystic
experience. The term "religion" refers to both the personal practices
related to communal faith and to group rituals and communication
stemming from shared conviction.

Philosophy is the discipline concerned with questions of how one
should live (ethics); what sorts of things exist and what are their
essential natures (metaphysics); what counts as genuine knowledge
(epistemology); and what are the correct principles of reasoning
(logic). The word itself is of Greek origin: φιλοσοφία (philosophía), a
compound of φίλος (phílos: friend, or lover) and σοφία (sophía:
wisdom).

As you can see, neither of these are the same thing ... you can use
both with each other
answers2: Religion is a primitive form of philosophy. Philosophy is
more advanced, more scientific and more relevant to this universe.
answers3: Philsophy and religion are pursuing the same goals.
Philosophy is simply not matured enough to know where it's coming from
and where it's heading to.
answers4: That's a tough one, One people don't do is argue about
religion. But, I do think Philosophy is very interesting subject to
talk about. And maybe, it would be interesting to preach it as well.
As long as it does not contradict what is in the bible. Can't be
contradicting the bible in a church.
answers5: philosophy is just a by product of religion during
selfexploration/discovery.
answers6: Neither is relevent. Action is where the rubber hits the
road. Don't care what people say, look at what they do. That's the
true testement of where their desires are.
answers7: It's really not a "either or" question. Religion is a
system of believes where philosophy is the study of thought about a
given subject.

Just like there are many religions with different beliefs, there are
different branches of philosophy such as Ethics - the study of
morality, Philosophy of Religion, Logic, etc.
answers8: Neither of them should take over. Balance is the best thing.
Without balance there's no point, if only philosophy don't you think
hope's gone? Everybody wants to believe in higher powers than their
own. If only religion then all matters of logic gone and sciences?
Think about it. Balance is the most important thing of all. Hope I
helped you, take care.
answers9: Philosophy wins
answers10: Philosophy is just thinking and ranting of some educated
man but religion is a truthfull, ever-lasting message of the Creator
of everthing as per their true nature as he created.
